NRI Father’s Day

Father’s Day poem was motivated by and is dedicated to my son – Rohan. He was one year old when I wrote this.

Your first child brings about a deep and lasting change in your outlook. It is only after having one that you realize the depth of the bond between a parent and a child. Raising kids itself is a subject of complex and conflicting emotions. When you are to raise your kids  in a land far away from where you were raised and in a different culture, you don’t have much else but your value system as a guidance.

In a sense this poem is also dedicated to every parent and every child. Think of your children and/or your parents when you read this one.

This is probably my longest poem and by far my favorite.
